To give an example; imagine needing a bunch of highly trained employees for your business. You invest in training, doing all you can to get the best and brightest.
Your business is booming, getting stronger, and you focus on insuring that you have a constant supply of employees as you expand.
This was the Cold War mentality.
Now Imagine you realise you don’t need so many highly trained people. You have to get rid of a third of your workers.
This is the Post Cold War mentality.
Yes this apparently was the thinking back in the day.
What shocked America, esp. was the ability of those Baby Boomers to organise, to protest to have the facts, and not be easily confused.
Compare those of the 60s70s to those under 25 today.
