In the city where she worked, Shirley didn’t admit she was married. She used her maiden name, as she had always done, and didn’t wear her ring.
In this city, with Glen here, she was his wife.
His wife as long as he was here.
In one way she hoped he’d be called up tomorrow, in another, she wanted her relationship to reach an even keel.
At a calm moment, Shirley told Glen about her new job, her new city, and he seemed interested.
Later he said he wanted to go with her with a neediness she hadn’t expected.
Shirley called her work place, they were happy she would return from her leave early. She’d be on spot tomorrow.
Great stuff Jaylar, Smacks of authenticity, (as a war-veteran I can relate). You don’t have a prologue perhaps do you, a synopsis would help the reader,(me) get perspective. Great cliffhanger here at SOW-18
Thank you. I am doing the story from Shirley’s side, so everything is kind of new to her. She doesn’t understand. She is trying to cope.
Got it! Jaylar thank you.
And the story continues I see.
Yes there are more chapters in the story
