This song simply popped into my head without any prompting. When I looked for it so I could share for the SongSaturday challenge, I found this guy singing it. The original song was performed by the group Looking Glass, but though I’d never heard of the performer here; Nick Hermann, he does an excellent cover that rivals Looking Glass, especially considering that he is playing and singing all the parts of this song. This is a real talent, any way you look at it. I’ll be interested to know what you think.
Love that song! Yes he does do it well. Great share here. I am a little late to the party.
Nah, the party has just begun, Kim. I love talent. I’ve said that a person doesn’t need to be talented in order to sing and I stand by that. However, singing multiple parts, harmonizing with yourself, and doing all of that while playing several musical parts, in this case, 5, *does* require talent. He is spot on and Looking Glass really doesn’t do the song any better.
I totally agree. You have to have a great range to harmonize with yourself. Very talented in many ways.
Exactly! I have a hard time even playing piano or keyboard and singing at the same time. I can play guitar and sing (not particularly well), but the piano/keyboard is harder to play and I can’t focus on playing and singing at the same time. If I try, I either miss keys and cords or sing off-key. Yet Nick is having no problem singing and playing at the same time.
Love the song, thanks for this one Rex.
This guy does a really good job, doesn’t he?
Yes indeed he does a great job.
