There is a building in Bloomington Indiana called the Gables. It is right off the campus of Indiana University. A student by the name of Hoagie Carmichael wrote this song playing the piano in the Gables.
The song was and is one of the most classic songs of the 1940s in the US.
it was written in the town. in a building, in a place that I went to often, although a few years later!
I am going to work were John Travolta made a movie called trading paint.

every year at Indiana University they do a concert and play all his songs!
Sounds like a very enjoyable concert.
