Ellie started a series of songs with a woman’s name in the title. Song Saturday seems the perfect day to post such a video. This is the Rolling Stones’ song Angie, released in 1973 – almost 50 years ago 😮 – but this performance dates from much more recently: 2016 in Cuba. I find it amazing how strong and confident Mick Jagger’s voice sounds in this video, even though he was in his mid-seventies! I hope you enjoy 🙂

It has always been one of my favourites of the Stones’ songs. And I find it all the more poignant hearing it sung when the singer in his his 70s 🙂

they never do – back then all the big bands and big comedy acts used to tour College venues. We got Steve Martin, Bob Hope, Robin Williams, Neil Young, the Rolling Stones, Earth wind and Fire and so many others in our tiny little town.

Indeed it is, I had forgotten about it. That is one of the incredible things abut music. You can pick it up from years ago and remember where you were and what you were doing.

Yes, that is really true. And music, like scent, can be very evocative, calling back memories you didn’t know you had 🙂
