I rose to an infinite sky,
pierced
bits of light poked through every hole
I watched the darkness roll in like a storm
the ground was cold and solid
I think it had just rained
There were dead golden leaves
already giving up their flesh
to the ground
I felt only the absence of myself
the weight was gone
only the questions
tomorrow, yesterday lingered on
Winter, I heard gunshots in the distance
but I felt no fear
the news in rooms in houses
on the block, buzzed with distraction
I rose out of that hole
alive
Thirsting to be
It had been days since I had awoken
with a light in my eyes
and now the darkness expelled all doubt
I watched stars shooting down from heavens
each spoke like embers in a fire
I was at peace having chosen to walk the earth
again
awake, Alive, giving up all of the previous self
That now I can barely describe….
What an incredible post. Your words and photos go hand in hand.
Excellent job!
Carol, I really look forward to your comments. I really appreciate all your support. Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.
Thanks CoffeeQueen-it really is amazing_I’ve seen red, blue and green ones-they’re mystical.
I love the photo’s of the dark sky and the stars. I’ve never seen a shooting star. I hope I do some time though. That’s a lovely poem.
