94 days thumb picture free!
Many people won’t understand why thumb pictures are part of my vocabulary. There was a time when with film cameras you took pictures and sent them off (the film) to be developed. When they came back you sometimes got back pictures of the lens cap, or of your thumb.
With digital cameras you don’t get that. If, you take the shot and you miss it, you see it right away and can take 10, 20, 30 or more. Then if you have 10, 20 or 30 bad pictures you don’t have to keep them.
I cannot tell you the utter sadness that was generated by the epic failure of taking pictures of an event, and getting back 4 lens covers. Two thumbs and of course the one picture of a child’s face pressed into the camera. Then you have four pictures that missed the event completely and 8 pictures from a previous event because film was expensive. That left you with 5 pictures in a roll of 24 of what you were trying to capture or 17 in a roll of 36. Needless to say, it was painful when you missed!
