It’s a winter day by the lake, the cold front has come and washed out an already gray landscape. We long for light in these days, just a glimmer to light the edge of the forest.
These photographs are almost black and white. I wanted to capture the flat grayness of the landscape. There is a loneliness amidst the edge of the trees, even the birds are absent.
The trees, which are fish magnets in the spring are now just ghostly limbs poking out of the water. There is no movement, everything is poised and waiting for light, any hope for light, a hint that spring might come soon.
I know what you mean, a somber time of the year.
Your photos are still exquisite.
All three are great, but that second one is my favorite. You captured the feeling very well.
