Papa John’s Pizza CEO John Schnatter is angry at the NFL

John Schnatter who is the founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is very upset that National Football League (NFL) Commissioner Roger Goodell did not nip in the bud by taking action against former San Francisco 49ers quarteback Colin Kaepernick for taking a knee during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner during the 2016 football season when Kaepernick protested police brutality and injustice to minorities.

Even though Kaepernick as of today is not playing football this year after he opted out of his contract with the 49ers this year, several NFL football players have either taken a seat, raise their fists or knelt during the playing of the Star Spangled Banner this year in support of Kaepernick.

Since the Neilsen ratings of the NFL games have taken a downward spiral this year, Papa John’s Pizza who is one of the sponsors of the NFL have taken a drop in sales due to the fans boycotting his company.

That is the price that sponsor face when they do business with a sport like football that has decided not to listen to the desires of the fans to entertain them for three hours on Sunday playing professional football.

In my view either the stores that Schannter owns have been giving their customer bad service or maybe his company is the wrong place at the wrong time with the protests from the football players in the NFL who do not get the message of a successful business which is “Give your audience what they want.” It is plain and simple how Papa John’s can cure their sales slumps.

After all the old saying is correct “The customer is always correct.” Even when if I or anyone disagree with their view. I have been there and done that.

  1. There is much controversy. In my personal opinion, no one should be allowed to protest on a job where they are getting paid and that includes players. Any business owner can choose to support and not support any cause.

    • I understand the gripes of the players but the National Anthem did not harm anyone. In my view football players are simply robots doing what they told by their peers.
