Last week, Monsanto settled a class action suit in Missouri for $39 million (USD).  The reason the settlement occurred is due to a new RoundUp commercial that was also released last week.  The new commercial claims that RoundUp only harms weeds when sprayed on fields and lawns.

However, the main ingredient in RoundUp also damages people as well because glyphosate has been proven to be a carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC).  To minimize losses, Monsanto decided to end the litigation of this class action suit with the settlement.  The settlement also included that Monsanto has to add a warning label to all of their products.
