Fat Girl – 4

Think of it.   Here are a bunch of kids in Junior High.  They didn’t know what their future would be.  And here am I, who knew, as if I’d read the book last week, how it would turn out.

I didn’t have to worry about anything!  In six years I would be dead.

I didn’t have to save for any future, I didn’t have to think about having children or getting married.   In six years, when I was far away, I would end my life.

I enjoyed my remaining years of Junior High and did well, because there were no distractions, no dreams nor problems.   I had nothing at all to worry about.

I glided into High School,  savouring it as one would visiting an art museum or seeing a sporting event.

I did well, applied and was accepted into college.  My parents were so proud.  I was proud of myself for giving my parents this happiness.

Then, I applied to the Peace Corps.  I was accepted and flew to Behind the World
