The meandering line was created partially or as a result of having that feeling that sanity was lost and must be found again. Sanity went for a walk and never came back. The meandering line is meandering endlessly to find the lost item. This is a watercolor on paper. 18 x 24 inches. 46 x 61 cm.
sanity is always in the last place you look for it…
You have a way of hitting the mark. That is so true and factual.
I was inspired by your excellent title
Amazing illustrations, I can relate.
Thanks. I try for the interesting and the cute is a bonus.
Sorry for the late reply. I am using the same style and concept in all of my works these days.
Sorry again for this late reply. The colors are not really mixed. They are placed on the surface as a layer. When the layer dries then I can add another layer. And the color begins to change and do all sorts of … colorful things. There are as many as 10 layers of colors on the surface. So the alyers interact with each other to create the effect of that atmospheric color fog.
The new layer over the dry layer simply starts to interact with a the color layer underneath. I use watercolors for the sfumato effect. I am not sure if this is a phase. Could be terminal. Ok, maybe it is a periodic symptom of obsessive activity that appears once in a while. I am not sure of anything about this part of your question. This style did start many years coupled with the single line syndrome in the works. I did get sick last year. Bells Palsy. Same symptoms as a stroke but luckily I had the Bells. The doctor said it’s good that it was that. After recovering I began to do art again. The linear aspect has been around for 10 years or so. The recovery somehow enhanced a predilection to the linear aspect.
I am now a fan of yours. Your drawings are so interesting.
Thank you very much for your kind words.
