Show Case of my Art work

Having packed and unpacked our things on the recent move from Onehunga to Bucklands Beach, I am seeing some art work of mine and Warwicks that I have not seen for a long time.

We used to live in a one bedroom place with hardly any space or light at all, although our garden was nice with volcanic soil.

Now, we live in a two bedroom place with a garage and a garden with more light. I miss the volcanic soil, as the garden is going to be hard work as well as the neighbours I used to have. Hopefully, will keep in contact with some of them.

In Auckland people prefer contemporary art or so it seems. I have noticed few people go to art galleries here because they don’t like the art work they see, and to be honest – I would prefer something prettier or far more cheerful that means something to me.

However, Im not against abstract, if I am allowed to do it my way.

Art to me is all about telling a story like writing a novel and stories are great you can talk about anything you want. Like anything else, art ability is learning it is 99% persperation and 1% inspiration or is it? I suppose the choice is up to what you want to do.

Monarch Butterfly Watercolour by me.

I have an interest in nature and one of them is butterflies. We see mostly Monarch Butterflies in New Zealand and they are easy to raise in the garden

I did this from life and found out that Butterflies love flowers.

You may think I am mad, but I imagined this Butterfly smiled when I bought flowers!
