Must you look at me that way
must I feel the way I do
must you raise me towards the sky
then leave me feeling blue
must you continue patterns
must you always go away
won’t you stay this time
and prove you’ve changed your ways
Expressing a lot of emotions! What came to my mind was emojis aka emoticons. SMH!
you are the best! In this relationship it was a bit of putting the blame of pain on both parties. As i reread it, it also reminds me of another situation where I was involved with someone at work and I would say to him, must you look so hot at work? 🙂
Wonderful. The late Donna Summer once said that an artist to be successful has to relay to the audience their pain as well as their joy.
thank you so much for your comment. OMG I must be in a hole. I didn’t know Donna Summer died. Although I swim mostly in the pain end of the pool, I do occasionally express joy too. In this situation, it is a little of both.
She passed away a few years ago from lung cancer but she kept her medical condition a secret from her fans since the last thing she needed was those tabloids putting her on the cover to inform us she was dying.
Such an emotional piece. I feel the pain.
wow. thank you so much! your reads and comments and votes mean more than you know. The great thing about poetry is the ability to make something beautiful out of something that once caused pain. to be able to share it and have it resonate with others is what it is all about.
I must, express sympathy to you
And empathize with what you feel.
thank you so much!!! luckily this is pain from the past. I am doing great. i find poetry such a healthy and cathartic way of dealing with negativity and pain. at least there is something beautiful out of something once painful or ugly. thanks for taking the time to read and comment.
Lovely
thank you SO much!
Cool
thanks Gina. I am sending a virtual hug for your reads and comments. It means so much to me. Two years ago I was afraid to share my work. I have received such positive reinforcement on Virily, more in 1 month than I have on other sites after years! this is such a great, supportive community.
