This painting was inspired by a line from a poem Lamia by John Keats. It was painted with acrylic ink and paint on art paper without the use of a brush. This is the best method i know for getting my feelings down on paper in colour. I am not aware of another artist using this style. I hope the viewer gets a feeling of movement in a sad world.
It is fun to come back later and see if what you thought you created is that it is now. I have come back three times and each time picked out something different. Thanks, it’s been nice.
That’s a great compliment thank you Trenna
Now that I read what I wrote I did it poorly – “what you though you created is the same thing now” might have been better.” Goodness!
Oh is that good or bad Tenna ?
they look like they are walking very slowly, but wearing a black abaya, and maybe carrying something on their head.
It’s funny I painted it as single spirits and later when I looked at it again there was couples embracing, I don’t know how that happened.
i thought there are 5 figure in black walking around.
Is it five people walking around or some couples embracing I am not sure, I suppose it can be what ever you want it to be.
but it does look sad because to me it appears like 5 figures in all black–which represents death and mourning, walking the earth and seeing all the destruction and dead bodies around them.
It was meant to be sad you are correct hence the title
Very nice painting, I gave it 5 stars
Thank you for being so kind Altaf
