These last several years of being tied to my camera have taught me that I have so much more to learn. They have also taught me the importance of play time. I think that our minds and bodies never become too old to find that joy that many of us leave behind when we put away childish things. That is the exact wrong way to go about this mystery of life, in my humble opinion.
If we forget what makes us happy in the pursuit of being “adults,” we forget a significant part of what we learned along the way in our early years. Those moments of joy that we capture on childish faces with dirty hands and sweat necklaces are the moments we need to nurture. Don’t leave the creative part of yourselves behind in the sandbox. I have relearned the fine art of joy.
