Great gray owls have calls that aren’t like those of other owls. They incorporate various other sounds, like clicks and screeches, though they also hoot. Because of the multiple sounds this owl makes, many people wouldn’t have any idea of what they were listening to if they heard it. It has calls that are unique enough that it is worthwhile to share the sounds.
The audio wouldn’t play; but thank you for this series.
Maybe you could try playing it again. I didn’t have a problem getting the audio to work. Youtube may have had a momentary glitch or something.
So weird. Part of it sounded like a dog barking!
Yeah, it really doesn’t sound like an owl.
Not the sound I was expecting. He is stunning.
I agree with both statements. These are beautiful owls and they really don’t sound like people usually think owls are supposed to sound. They do hoot, but it is almost as if that is just an after thought.
Another wonderful Owl video , Thank you for sharing
I’m glad that you liked it.
Great sounds coming from this look alike of the barn owl or chouette. I never knew there were so many varieties of owls. Thank you for posting the series of owl posts.
I’m glad that you like the series. This one is a really big owl with a longer than usual tail. I’ve really just started, though. There are a lot of different kinds of owls.
