Myotonia goats, also known as fainting goats, are a domestic goat that seizes when it feels panic, is startled or hears a loud noise. It doesn’t actually faint. Its body goes stiff and it falls down. Episodes can last from 5-20 seconds.
This is a hereditary genetic disorder called myotonia congenita. Don’t worry, goats with this condition live a normal, healthy life. I was a little put off with the people in the video purposely making the goats faint; but I guess it’s quite common and doesn’t hurt the goat.
Myotonia goats are a little smaller than standard breeds and can measure 17-25 inches tall and from 60-200 lbs. They have large, prominent eyes in high sockets. They are friendly, intelligent, easy to keep and, of course, amusing.

Yes I have seen these goats before at festivals. The kids love them as well. Very entertaining when they faint.
I always feel a little sorry for them because they are stressed or startled when they keel over!!!
