In 1843, Texas political leaders and leaders of 10 Native American Indian nations signed a treaty of“peace, friendship, and commerce”, which allowed settlers to make their new homes in Grapevine, Texas. This city, which was named for its wild mustang grapes (Vitis Mustangensis), has been included on official lists published by CNN Money such as “America’s Best Places to Live” and “America’s Best Small Cities”. Probably the only two people who don’t think the City of Grapevine, Texas is a great place to visit or to live are the notorious bank robbing duo known as Bonnie and Clyde. It’s where Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker breathed their last breath; May 23, 1934. They had it coming!

Very informative article . thank you for sharing
I was once invited by a lady from Texas (she was on Hubpages and owned a ranch and other properties in Texas). But I could not make that trip. But if someone invites me to Grapewine now I can certainly go there. However, we have lots of grapevines in India and Australia even if no place is named as such..
I was aware that India had grapevines. India is a beautiful country with lots of natural resources. The various crops that are grown there are abundant.
Never heard of this place, a good reason to visit.
It’s close to the Dallas/Fort Worth area where many people travel to. It’s an easy drive to get there.
Now I know the vicinity. Never travel to Texas.
I love murder mystery dinners!
Texas is a place a lot of my friends have moved to, so we visit often. Love your description of Grapevine!!!!
I have lived in certain Texas cities and visited others. I am finding that Texas has a lot of interesting history. Lots of folks from California are moving here. Can’t say I blame them.
we have lots of people leaving Maryland right now…
No surprise. I moved from Texas to Maryland (worked in D.C.) and was glad when I left Maryland and moved back to Texas. Cost of living in Maryland versus COL in Texas is no comparison.
