I was glad to know there is a recreational club when we moved into this housing area. There are some sports facilities, such as swimming pool, badminton court, tennis court, squash court and table tennis court. There is also a gym room. We wanted to join and be the member when we first moved in, but found that besides the lifetime membership fee, we still need to pay monthly fee which we think is quite costly. At that time my husband and I were both working full time, hence we might not spend much time playing the sports there.
Until recently, we are thinking of enrolling my kids to swimming class. Then we found out besides lifetime membership, there is also term membership now, which is just to pay a yearly fee. We think this is quite affordable, and since I am now a stay at home mom, I can bring my kids to the club house more often. The club house is also nearby my house, though not within walking distance, it’s also much more convenient if we would send our kids to other swimming club to learn swimming. There is playground where I think my kids will surely enjoy spending time there too.
We have just got our member cards yesterday, and today we will go for our first visit to swim. My kids are very excited for their “first adventure”.
Do you think joining recreational or country club is fun?

Congrats kaka on a new move in life!
Thanks! I am glad that we joined as now we get to exercise more often in a week now. Since we have paid for it, it’s better if we use it. 😀
Wonderful, so glad they changed the pricing. I bet the kids had a blast.
The price is increased every year, but it’s good that there is annual membership, so we just pay the fee yearly, but don’t need to pay a big lump sum of money at once in the beginning.
Yes, my kids really enjoy going to the club house nowadays. There is also a reading room where my eldest likes to go and read the books there. An indoor playground for the younger kids to have fun too. 🙂
We don’t have clubs around here.
I suppose there are parks and fitness or sport centers around, right?
