This place is not the place of the Huka Falls but close by. This is a place called a rest area, where you can pull over and stop and have a picnic off the road. I had a packed lunch, sandwiches and snacks and 2 thermoses of hot water for hot drinks.
This day we were on our way to my Aunt Cara’s in Havelock North and this stop is just before Lake Taupo. It is part of the Waikato river and goes through the Wairaka geysers and Wairaka Power plant, powered by thermal energy.
I took this photo looking down over a steep cliff. It was taken a long time ago, 2014 in April.
Huka Falls and Wairaka Springs is well worth a visit if you are coming to New Zealand.
It was an enchanting resting place. I can relax to linger there.
Its a lovely place and other places like that are nearby. Thanks Albert
That’s great! It is a wonder of nature to be grateful for!
Another beautiful view you have shared Pam!
Thanks so much Carol. It is a beautiful place.
This is so beautiful, it looks like a painting!
Thanks Ellie. Rotorua and Taupo areas have such stunning views. The entire area is volcanic and lovely
What a great view for a rest stop. It is gorgeous. I bet the falls are wonderful.
Thanks so much Kim. When I get the chance I will provide more views, we have to visit this area again.
