The world is constantly changing. Unfortunately, the climate changes are felt in all the world. This is a rapid rise in ocean level, vegetation change, drought intensification, rainfall change, more frequent flooding of rivers, melting glaciers. There are also more extreme events – tropical cyclones, tornados, torrential rain, spit, heat waves, etc. Over the past 150 years, global temperatures have risen by about 0.8 ° C and are projected to continue to rise. Counters are small but very significant.

Why is this happening? In the geological history of the Earth, the climate has changed due to natural processes: changes in orbital parameters of the planet, atmospheric composition changes, tectonic plates drift, solar activity cycles, volcanic eruptions. The climate change observed in the last 200 years is characterized by the fact that the main cause for change is human activity.

So let’s think and try to do our best to reduce the following consequences. And here are some places that may disappear over time! Rush to visit them!

• Maldives

This is the corner of the paradise, which is usually visited by couples in love. A wonderful vacation here is guaranteed. The Maldives is comprised of just over 1190 coral islands known for its immersive beaches and dive features. More than 80% of the islands land is below 1 m above sea level. The highest point of the Maldives archipelago is just 2.5 meters above sea level. This means that if the level of water is raised, the Maldives can sink in the water.

• Dead Sea

This is the only place on earth where people who are not able to swim can do this. In fact, the Dead Sea is actually a lake, and its water is many times more salt than seawater. It is likely that water is full of healing minerals. Unfortunately, as time passes, the lake is shrinking, the water goes away. The main reason for this is the decline in the amount of water added from the Jordan River. In the past few decades, the Dead Sea has lost one-third of its water.

• Kilimanjaro

The highest African mountain in Africa is covered by a glacier, a snow cap. Unfortunately, the cap is falling. During the last century, the glacier of the mountain has shrunk by more than 80% and is likely to completely disappear over the next few decades. The age of the Kilimanjaro cap, which has become the symbol of Africa, is 12 thousand years.

• The North Pole – Antarctica

The North Pole is known to everyone for its breathtaking landscapes, gigantic icebergs, white bears, or northern light. Unfortunately, rising temperatures and melting glaciers threaten the animals living there – penguins, bears … In the near future, Antarctica will not disappear completely, but the effects of warming are already visible now.

• Madagascar

Madagascar is the fourth island by size in the world with an outstanding view. Many species of animals and plants found in Madagascar are endemic. Uncontrolled deforestation and burning, as well as hunting, make it impossible for many local flora and fauna species to exist. If no action is taken, it is believed that the rainforests of the island and the unique inhabitants will disappear within a few decades.

• Venice

City on the water – this is Venice. Several times a year Venice is overflooded by its surrounding water. Scientists believe that this phenomenon will only intensify in the future, as Venice drops about 2 mm in water per year. And due to its weight, Venice buildings themselves are gradually sunk into the water over time. Rescue measures should, therefore, be taken before Venice starts seriously sinking.
