I think one of the cutest of wild animals is the mongoose. It has a funny name and a cute face. There are three dozen species of this animal located in Africa and also southern Asia and southern Europe.
There is the Egyptian mongoose in Africa and southern Europe and the Indian gray mongoose which became famous through writer Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Books as Rikki-Tikki-Tavi. Another cute looking animal the meerkat is a member of the mongoose family.
Mongooses are animals with short legs, pointed noses, small ears, and long furry tails. Their fur is gray to brown and can include various shades. They live in burrows and their diet includes birds, rodents, reptiles, frogs, insects, and worms. They also enjoy nuts, seeds, and fruit.

Very cute little face. Never seen one before.
Oh what a cute little face which is almost smiling. I do not think we have them here in Canada but I still would like them to migrate here if they can. Of course, Runt, my cat, would be very jealous or chase them away….
The mongoose I remember is Riki-tiki-tavi which is a fighter of snakes.
