MY MEMORIES IN VERSE
The day I was dreading had arrived—it was inevitable. I had seen the brain fog creeping in, I knew it was coming but had chosen to ignore it for as long as possible. My ever capable, intelligent mom had started forgetting important things, like paying her bills, it was time to take over her finances, so I offered, and she thanked me. When I looked through her wallet, I made a remarkable discovery.
Tucked away in a tiny compartment were four Mother’s Day poems I’d written for her in the 1960s. She had saved and cherished those simple little gifts for 50 years. What a happy surprise!
Mom has gone to join her “Chum”, some years ago, but I keep her wallet right next to my laptop and think of her daily but especially on Mother’s day. Mom, for you and all the mothers on Vilily and all mothers who read this post, May our Almighty Father bless each and every one of you, for mothers are everything that is good in life…
This prayer is for all mothers.

How loving is this tribute Andre. So romantic that she kept all of those things.
Hello Carol, thank you for reading this post. I truly hope your day was a good one. 🌼🌻🌷🥀
It has been difficult as always on these holidays but thank you!

It was a very kind thing to do. I would guess all the mothers here are grateful to you.
Hello Trenna, thank you for reading this post, I hope your day was a good one in spite of all the pain you are experiencing.🌻🌻🌻☘☘☘
I am doing what I can with what I have and that is good enough. Thanks Andre for taking the time to read and comment. I appreciate you.
I appreciate your friendship more than you know, Trenna
That’s probably true. I often don’t feel like I have much to offer. I do so love reading your work. It is one of the things that draws me back to this unsafe location.
that is amazing that she kept them. I know when my dad died, i was shocked to find things I had written years ago, that he had saved.
what a touching and loving tribute to your mother.
Thank you, Doc, I appreciate your comment
you are most welcome, it was a great mothers day story!!!!
Thank you, Andre! Mother’s Day is celebrated in my country on the first Sunday of May. This year, due to the pandemic, no one paid attention to the celebration of this day.
Thank you, Ileana, I can understand why people feel the way they do, but just felt mothers, especially right now, have to keep their families together, encourage and even feed them with very little. 🌼🏵💐☘
You’re a mom, Karen, you deserve the best of wishes you get. May your heart be filled with joy today. 🌻🌼🌈🦋💝
Thank you for the Happy Mother’s Day wishes, Andre!
