A friend of mine had given me a cutting of the two-tone Pentas that is seen on the left. I have produced many plants from this one cutting and they are all blooming.
On my usual garden stroll I spotted the flower that you see on the right which is a new colour. Nature has decided to remove the white spots from the exotic Pentas and create this flower. It is bright red while the exotic Pentas is pink with white spots.
Nature is creative and I know she loves pottering around in my garden, springing surprises.
Oh my gosh GRACE!!! Thank you for this post. I had two come up in a cacti that I got from the store. I have been trying to find the name of them for a few years now. Thank you so much, now I know the name. Love that wide angle!
Pentas among cacti!! Nature is pleasantly strange I say (lol)
I was just wondering if it came from the supplier with the seeds in it already or if they were next to a flowering Pentas at the store. Funny thing is, is I cannot get it out of the cacti, both are in a crown of thorns.
Did you have to put the cuttings in water or use a root powder? Since I cannot get them out of the cacti, I can take cuttings. I would love to have more on the bank.
They are easy to grow and I propagated them through cuttings.
It is not a wide-angle gimmic but a collage of two photos (lol) .
Wow, I never would of guess that was two. Fantastic job!!!
