I have a few different trailing plants in my garden, the devil’s Ivy or the pothos which is an all time favorite of everyone occupies a huge place. However, my favorite is the Hexine Soleirolii that you see as my thumb nail picture.
This plant grows quite well in dappled shade, it does love a bit of sunshine everyday. However, when I try growing them indoors they just dry up or rot and die. Hang them out and they grow and fill the pot in no time at all.
These are also sometimes called the baby’s tear drops. I am still confused with their names because some of these plants look so much alike. Those beautiful shiny, green leaves, oval and serrated , placed opposite each other trailing down in streams are so pleasant on the eye.
I would love to have trailing plants all around. The idea of plants hanging down and gently caressing my face is my vision of happiness. I would if I could, fill every place in my house with plants. But that would mean I could never travel or leave home in any emergency. Who will even agree to water my plants and look after them in my absence? I already have plants on three floors. Even adding a few more to them will tilt the delicate balance here.
Maybe I need to find myself a place in the Amazon jungle, but I don’t think I like wild visitors. What a dilemma this has put me in – my passion for plants.

Sometimes we have a lot of unnecessary things. We always think that the day will come when we will need them. There are times when I throw away some of them.I can’t grow ivy on the balcony. In the house where I work, it’s like a hedge.
You say it as its . I got way to many plants and I still keep buying.
i find myself often with more of something than I truly need.
Hmm .. Glad I am not alone in this. 😀
it is a burden for many to carry I suspect
Interesting plant. I have an ivy type plant in my pot out on my porch and it trails down almost to the ground.
That must look really beautiful Rasma.
I have many plants in my garden but I only have one trailing plant.
