This is actually a very late upload. This photo was taken last Wednesday, the 22nd of April… that’s three days ago. I wanted to upload it then but my son, asked for my phone so he could play with his games in it.
This is what we had for breakfast that Wednesday morning. Dried fish is actually a typical breakfast for Filipinos. The fishes were salted and sun-dried. Some are quite smelly though.
At times like this crisis, having some dried fish in stock would be a great help. You don’t even need to put them in the refrigerator to store.
It is easy to prepare, just fry it with oil and that’s it. It is best eaten with scrambled or fried eggs (sunny side up).

Dried fish or salted fish is something that is familiar in my country too, but not for breakfast.
I love smoked fish more than dried fish. I prefer mackerel. I live in a seaside town and we have a great selection of gifts from it.
I love smoked fish too. But I haven’t eaten one for a long time. Milkfish is also great when smoked. I think I’m going to look for some when I pass by the market one of these days.
i remember dried fish from Thailand!
How was it? Did you like it?
i enjoyed it, we ate it often when traveling in Thailand all three times I have been!
I have never eaten a dried fish. The photos does make them look very good.
Thanks. Yup, they are crispy and goes well with hot rice and eggs. 😀
Enjoy my friend, not for me.
