The Roman Bridge of Cangas de Onís is an old building located on the Sella River in the former capital of Asturias, Cangas de Onís and separating the councils of Cangas de Onís and Parres.
The current bridge, known as Puente Romano or simply El Puentón for the Cangueses, dates from the High Middle Ages (probably from the 13th century), although it sits on another much older one that would go back to Roman times. The truth is that on this stone step the layout of the Roman road that linked the towns of Lucus Asturum (next to Oviedo) and Portus Victoriae (now Santander) settled.
No doubt this bridge, or the one immediately before him, would witness the rise of Pelayo against the Muslim occupation, and would be used for the passage of the Alkama army on the way to its defeat in Covadonga. And I would also contemplate the first years of the Kingdom of Asturias, when Cangas de Onís was the royal seat, court and capital of the kingdom, and I would watch impassively as the kings moved to other cities looking for more strategic places and closer to the borders they had to defend. .

In Spain, there are many similar ones that are a tourist attraction.
i remember visiting an old Aqueduct built by the Romans. I was amazed!
