Here is a rare New Zealand Parrot, the Kaka. My first and only time I have seen them at the Auckland Zoo and this photo was taken yesterday at Auckland Zoo.
3 of these birds came to greet me.
They are amazing characters.

Thanks so much Elenka, I was greeted by 3 Kaka parrots and they are characters . As they approached me, 2 Kereru or 2 Woodpigeons swooped down in flight and there were cries of protest from the Kaka Parrots.
that is so cool what a wonderful picture and experience. seeing the bird in the zoo is good. I would bet seeing them in the wild would be unbelievable.
Well that is true I don’t know much about these birds but they are an endangered species and I believe they live in the South Island…Thanks Doc.
