A food allergy occurs when the body’s immune system is alerted due to a certain food which is harmful and reacts by causing symptoms. This is called an allergic reaction. Foods that cause allergic reactions are called allergens.
Many people who have allergies to pollens, such as ragweed and grasses, could also be allergic to some foods. Proteins in the pollens compare to the proteins in some fruits and vegetables, therefore, if your child is allergic to ragweed, he or she may experience an allergic reaction to melons and bananas. This is due to the protein in ragweed appearing like the proteins in melons and bananas.

I GOt 6 out of 8. Nice Quiz!
Wow, you scored well and thanks for playing hamza! 🙂
Hmm. You’re Welcome:
Interesting quiz, Deb.
I got just one wrong, “Name the most common food allergy.” I answered peanuts, which would be true locally, but I suppose globally milk must be the right answer. Thanks for this.
I thought peanuts also, yet I researched and it states that globally it’s milk that causes the most food allergies, interesting. Thank for playing Norman 🙂
