These flowers – the yellow Ixora – have a special significance to me as I got the cutting from my mother’s garden. As a child I remember neighbours coming for those flowers as it was believed they had some health properties.
Mother with her generosity willingly offered them the flowers further strengthening the relationship. Strangely they were not successful in growing their own.
Each time I stroll around the garden these flowers take me back to the days I spent with mother who I lost a few years ago.
