Vitamin D, depression and bones

Very few foods contain vitamin D. The best source of vitamin D is sunlight. It’s a much healthier way to have enough of this vitamin. Supplements are supplements though.

When the skin is exposed to sunlight, the body produces vitamin D. Vitamin D is very important for bones and teeth. Without enough vitamin D, the bones can be thin. Vitamin D deficiency can lead to depression. Vitamin D affects the hormone serotonin and our mood.
