Vegetables courtesy of the church

The Catholic church in our town has been giving away gift certificates worth $20 to all the needy who lost their job due to the lockdown. Aside from the gift check that the people can use to buy food in the supermarket, the church is also giving away rice and vegetables. The parish priest said that this is a calamity period that the church understands those who are getting hungry.

Unfortunately, the church cannot feed the multitude unlike when Jesus Christ was on earth. The priest cannot multiply the bread, so to speak. What if the church would run out of resources? The priest said that we should pray that it would not happen.
