We depend on the Bougainvillea to add colour to our garden as they normally show up around end September.
We are in the middle of October and none of the bushes that we have planted all over the garden are showing any signs yet. This I attribute to rains that have still not receded. Bougainvillea do not like rain and when it rains they just produce more leaves but no flowers.
The thumbnail image that you see is of bougainvillea that show up in our garden normally by end September.
Very disappointed

Very few flowers bloom in October with me … I have few flowers in the garden and everything has already bloomed
Bougainvillea normally bloom around September. Good that you have all your flowers blooming.
I hope it blooms, dear Grace
This is nice, you have so many types?
We have all those colours but they have not yet started showing up this season
Last year we had a plague of guava moth so hardly any peaches, but this year will put down neem bark around the soil by our fruit trees that deter pests and will spray the tree after the blossoms have gone
We get what we call neem cake which is put for coconut and areca nut trees. Bougainvillea do not need all that fuss and the only thing they do not like is rain.
Yes, guava moth affected quite a few people with fruit trees in New Zealand last year and we haven’t been the only ones. I will put some traps for the male moths as well. Not too close to the fruit trees.
What is a Neem cake?
The photo’s are lovely, so I hope your bougainvillea’s flower soon. The weather can sometimes be disappointing.
I have all those colours and they normally start showing by end September but as I have said in the post they do not like rains.
