The Golden Tabebuia Is In Bloom Again

As we were driving to meet our son we noticed that the Golden Tabebuias are in bloom again. The Tabebuia Rosea is done blooming and now it is the turn of the golden tabebuia to bloom. In a couple of weeks we will see the beautiful purple jacarandas in bloom too. I am so excited to see those beauties once again. I just cannot have enough of these beautiful trees.

The Delonix Regia , the Golden showers , Plumerias , Caesalpinia pulcherrima etc will start to bloom and carpet our roads in colors. Until June it will be a reign of colors before the rains start to wash out the colors.  The endless colors through out the year gives our smaller streets and roads a new personality.

At the end of April the Queen’s crepe myrtle with its shades of pinks and purples will paint the city in beautiful hues. I really look forward to seeing the trees in bloom. I am so grateful that the government has planted so many flowering trees along the roads and now this initiative has been picked up and taken forward by the citizens.

We can buy sapling for a just few cents at the forest department offices and plant them along the roadsides. The authorities will tell you what kind of trees can be planted where. The bigger problem is to keep the critters away from these saplings and keep them watered until their roots are established.
