The dining table of goodies

Another way of welcoming the new year in our home is the dining table that we fill with fruits and other goodies. It is not really a superstition but a family tradition to have a photo of abundance that is displayed on the dining table.

Our family is rich with rituals and tradition based on the Philippine culture of the olden times. The dining table that looks like a cornucopia would hold the goodies on New Year’s eve and would be eaten and removed after lunch of New Year’s day. There is the belief that the bountiful dining table would be bountiful with food everyday.
