So I gave my work schedule a quick glance and I realized I have 72 hours worth of work to do in an 10 hour period. Clearly I have a scheduling problem. Perhaps it is time for me to stop and take some advice from Stephen Covey. (Note: his quote is the graphic for the post.)
Should all those work things be my priority today? I wonder if each night before I went to bed I wandered through my home and looked at what needed to be done. I check with my family to see what they may need tomorrow. I look at my work schedule for the next day. Then I write the 5 priorities for the day. Would that be better than an ordinary to do list?

I don’t usually make a schedule–i’m in retired and I have plenty of time
I like Covey’s thoughts. I used to schedule according to Covey’s method, but in the past ten years, I have no longer written a schedule.
I try to prioritize my life as much as possible. Life is too short not to.
That makes good sense. With all the things you do there is no wasting time.
