The strawberries plants are doing extremely well. there are loads of flowers and fruits below those lush looking leaves.
The only problems I have with these strawberries is that I have only a container garden on the terrace and these plants seem to be over running the place putting out new suckers into every pot.
Sadly I have had to pull out thirty to forty plants. I wish I could give them all a place in my garden, but I need other herbs and veggies too. Nature has strange ways to spring surprises on us. For a few years in the past, these plants would just die on me, no matter how much I cared for them. Now they seem to have adjusted themselves to the conditions and are growing wild.
The same thing happened with my lettuce as well, first they wouldn’t grow, now they are like a weed. I use all the excess plants in my garden to make nitrogen rich compost especially for my spinach and herbs. My peppermint is growing extremely well with this special fertilizer. I will use it on my new batch of spinach and celery plants as well.
There is no waste in my garden. Learning about Korean farming methods is helping m,e have a waste free garden.

balance is so important. i agree!
I remember the strawberry plants that grew in my garden in Latvia. Every spring we had to replant and weed so they could grow and not be crowded together.
So it does come back every spring?
Sure the strawberries plant bloomed every year but as I said if they grow too closely you have to space them and weed them so that the strawberries don’t grow too small
That is very true. they are heavy feeders.
I love strawberries so I planted in the garden.
I love them too, but the birds seem to be getting all the fruits 😀
I also have strawberries in my garden, dear Dawn
It is a fruit worth cultivating.
I totally agree with you …. they are very sweet and they work well
I love them, You can eat them as they are or cooked, either way they are good.
We had a similar situation with the raspberries, they grew like crazy and took a huge part of the garden. It’s always a bit sad to remove perfectly good plants though.
It is sad indeed. I decided to pot them and give them away to friends.
It’s great that you found a purpose for them!
It is sad to throw away good plants or dump them into the compost bin.
