We call it champorado. It is glutinous rice with chocolate that is cooked with water to make it like a dark porridge. The champorado is a native breakfast here although it can also be eaten as a snack. The porridge is eaten with milk and sugar. The side dish is fried fish that would give the salty taste versus the sweet taste of the champorado.
The champorado is slowly vanishing in the picture of the breakfast table. Maybe it is the modern society that is the reason because the taste of the public is changing with the times.

Sounds interesting. I have not had porridge in a long time. What I like is oatmeal with smoked sausages.
When you mentioned chocolate… (psst… sometimes I have chocolate ice cream with kisses for breakfast)
It looks very different. I do like chocolate. I will have to think about this one.
