Whenever we would cook pasta at home expect it to last for 2 days at least. I can always lessen the ingredients but it is not practical to cook pasta in small amounts. It is like part of the culture that pasta should be cooked in expectation of guests so it should be good for 10 people at least.
What we do now when we cook spaghetti is to have it for lunch. By dinner time we can already estimate how much food we need for breakfast on the next day. The rest of the spaghetti is sent to the neighbors. Now they know that we cook spaghetti twice a year only.
