The prairies are ideal for awesome sunsets and silhouettes. Prairie is French for meadow and is an ecosystem that shares its characteristics with savannas, shrublands and grasslands. In Canada the provinces of Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta are considered prairies. In the US, prairie states include North and South Dakota, Kansas and Nebraska.
Sunsets on farmlands of the prairies provide ample opportunities to view interesting silhouettes due to their wide open spaces dotted with a few buildings.
