Scouting for the kids

Scouting is big deal for grade school pupils during my time, boys and girls have their scouting groups. That’s where they learn not the jungle survival but the ways of children in dealing with responsibility. A 10-year old would learn how to start fire and how to cook without utensils. Of course, the cleaning up of the surroundings is part of the learning.

Scouting is exciting because that’s where the child experiences sleeping away from home. Pitching a tent is not simple much more when there are pests like ants in the tent area. There are many courses to be learned in scouting but the most important part is in building the confidence of the child. It is the best part for the child to confidence outside of the home.
