These whimsy flowers have a deep gorgeous blue and was taken at one of our city park’s garden. The Patio Deep Blue Salvia blooms from late summer to early fall and is great for pots, patios, and borders. This one is planted on the border of the garden walkway and it makes quite a statement. Salvia (Salvia divinorum) is a type of sage that belongs to the mint family.
The Deep Blue Patio is just one of the many varieties of salvias available to the gardener. Whichever type you choose you will find that they are nicely scented with beautiful flowers and attractive foliage. They are also resistant to many garden pests, drought and deer and bunnies tend to avoid them. The butterflies and the bees, however, are attracted to them.

Such a lovely plant and beautiful photos! It’s great that butterflies are attracted to it. 🙂
Oh boy, these are really gorgeous photos. I have one salvia but it is more of a lavender color. I would love these. Must be nice to see them blooming in your area!
I have the lavender color one too but I would love to have the one in the photo.
