This is a swamp with the outflow of Mandra Lake to the Black Sea in the land of Burgas.
The name of the place comes from a wooden raft – “Pod”, pulled by a rope, which passed through the outflow of Lake Mandra.
There is the only mixed heron colony on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast of spoonbill, glossy ibis, purple heron, grey heron, night heron, great white egret and little egret.

Yes, you have interesting reserves in Florida. There is something to be proud of!
I know we have some protected areas here but I cannot say if the government is intent on the protection.
We try to protect them from the interests of entrepreneurs, because the reserves are located near the resort villages.
Even the photo shows the silhouette of the fourth largest city in Bulgaria – Burgas, which is a resort town on the Black Sea.
Love this photo as always. We do have protected land around us. So glad and hope it stays protected. So much is not.
