Our national tree called Narra

Narra is a wood tree that produces fine wood for making furniture. In the olden times, the dining table made of narra wood is one symbol of prosperity since only the wealthy family have that kind of table. That symbol of wealth also applies to the living room set of sofa and table, the dresser cabinet and some parts of the house like the baluster of the stairs. A door made of narra can still be seen in the vintage houses in the provinces.

The narra has yellow-orange flowers that appear during summer. As can be seen in the accompanying picture, the small flowers make the tree attractive. Much more, the ground will be decorated with the yellow-orange when the flowers fall after a week or so. It would make a semblance of autumn in the months of March to May.
