On Same Sex Marriage

I know is a very sensitive issue. I’m not even sure if the Virily admin will allow this. But any here’s the story …

I found this on my wall. Someone who belongs to the LGBT community posted this. With a caption (translated)

“I m ready to go to hell if God wills it.  But will soon adopt a child abandoned by his/her biological HETEROSEXUAL parents.”

However, the first comment caught my attention.  She says (translated)

“I’m sick and tired of these narrow-minded people who make God as their reference just to disciminate others”

I asked:

“Why do you think this is simply discrimination?”

“What is the purpose of marriage?”

She simply avoided the question and quipped that she did not ask for my opinion. and said “You are a fool” in German. (Yeah, she may know another language, but I have technology on my side. hehehe. I think she thought that I would not understand what she meant).

I replied that I have not given any opinion, but I simply posted a couple of questions and said:

“Since this is a public post, you said your piece in public, can’t I ask questions in public?”

Anyways here are a couple of yes or no questions regarding this topic. I know this is sensitive, but everyone has a right for their opinion and beliefs. Besides, this is just a ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ question and I will not know who answers what unless everybody answers the same on each question.

Note. I am a Catholic Christian and I have my own belief regarding this subject.

  1. That is quite a dangerous notion if left unchecked. Why? Drug addicts are happy when they get their fix. Bullies feel happy when they hurt someone. But the question is: Are they really happy?

    • It’s ok, Carol. I tend to avoid this topic too. But sometimes we have to make a stand on our beliefs on social media. Anyways, I tried to handle this carefully.

  3. I believe that God created man and woman and said “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air. Gen 1:28
    so their place is with one another. Not man with man.

    • I agree with you, Dawn. The problem is, once you quote a passage like this from the Bible, they will say (like the one that reacted rather strongly) that people tend to use the Bible and God to discriminate them.

      That’s why I asked why she (or he rather) thought the words in the image is discriminating.
