Mishti Doi is the simplest of Bengali sweets and yet popular. It is the easiest to make and delicious. Milk is boiled and thickened to which jaggery is added It is then placed in an earthenware pot and allowed to ferment overnight. The earthenware pot keeps it cool.
The process here is different from that of Yoghurt. To re-use the pot it needs to be washed thoroughly and dried in the sun as it has the tendency to retain the smell.
There is a great variety in Bengali sweets and only those with a sweet tooth can relish them as they are sweeter than any other sweet desserts.
