Is Stress Taking its Toll?

Stress is not all bad. There are reasons and often times stress indicates some things need to change. The key is to recognize the cause and make sure the changes made are positive changes instead of negative changes.

Let’s take a look at the negative progression of stress and what can happen with  a person who doesn’t address the situation. Addictive behaviors are coping mechanisms the brain utilizes to try to restore order. Things like overexercising, overeating, smoking and drinking are all ways your brain uses as coping mechanisms. As you can see these would be problematic.

Insomnia is often associated with stress. The mind keeps running through events and doesn’t allow the body to produce the right chemicals to help induce sleep.

Stress can also alter eating habits. Some people cannot seem to eat at all and others suddenly overeat.

So what can you do when dealing with a stressful situation that can have a positive action and solve the issue causing the problem?  Some answers are coming. Watch for the title, Productive Stress.
