Last week my friend Rosemary visited us with a fantastic out fit she made herself for a play she had a part in.
It was all about a Maori legend with Maui, a Maori hero getting the sun to slow down during the day.
Rosemary played the part of being the sun.
I began to draw Rosemary and changed the picture of her being a shepherdess instead. My creations are often done by accident.
So this is done in pen & ink drawing but not exactly as Rosemary..
Seems I have 3 more #Inktobers to go but as a prize is not involved, I think I will take my time..

Thanks so much Carol, glad you like it.
Wonderful drawing. I find that my grandchildren draw better than I do ?
Thanks so much Vidocka… glad you like it.
Being to able to see and then draw is such a gift. I wish I could! I can see, but what I draw was never what I saw.
Well, a photo can produce a perfect copied image, art work isn’t about just copy, it involves more.
Most people expect to start art work and produce a perfect Michaelangelo image
Doesn’t work that way,
I have been learning art work for many years..
Anyone can do what I do with training and patience…Just like you don’t become a computer expert overnight either..I don’t know a lot about technology.
Thanks Doc
It is the learning part that got me! I was always all about technology. That I know inside and out.
Art was something I really never practiced. So, I agree with what you are saying, but still wonder if I could have learned more!
A lot of so called art have never learned proper classical art so most miss out on proper training.
Even the art teachers around New Zealand have never had the training and don’t know basic art principles.
So how can they teach others?
those who can do
those who can’t teach
Thanks Doc, Warwick and myself hope to be able to teach classical art as we have done for many years soon…
