I hate unreturned phone calls!

I hate unreturned phone calls!

When somebody promises faithfully that they will call you back, and then fails to do so, it leaves me seething! There I am, not daring to do anything other than stay close to the phone in case I miss their call, and absolutely nothing happens. Do you dare to ring them, knowing full well that they will think I am pressuring them to give an answer to my question? Or do I just go on waiting?

I had an example of this recently when I wanted some information from a major Scottish bank. I was only at the first stage of my enquiry, which was tracking down somebody in the organization who might be able to help me – I hadn’t even been able to ask the question in full.

On three occasions – days apart – I had been promised a return call, but nothing came.

I am now trying to find out what I need from another source, although I suspect that somebody at the bank must be able to tell me if my question can be answered or not. If I know for certain that I cannot make further progress that would be so much better than being left in limbo every time.

It is so annoying, especially as all through my 40-year working life I made absolutely sure that I never did this to anyone else.
